Modalities & Techniques

To help you understand what a treatment might involve and what you can expect, here's a brief description and benefits of the modalities and techniques that may be used during  your treatment.

Acupressure

An ancient technique using pressure on specific points along energy pathways (meridians) to balance the body’s flow of energy. Helps relieve tension, headaches, digestive issues, and emotional stress.

Buccal Massage

A specialised intraoral technique that sculpts, lifts, and detoxifies the face. It improves circulation, releases muscle tension, and gives a visibly refreshed, contoured appearance.

Cupping

Using suction cups to lift tissue, improve blood flow, and relieve deep muscle tension. Cupping supports healing, reduces inflammation, and promotes detoxification.

Deep Tissue Massage

Targets deeper muscle layers to relieve chronic pain, tension, and postural issues. Ideal for athletes, active individuals, or those with long-term muscular discomfort.

Grounding

Grounding techniques bring awareness back to the body, helping clients feel centered, balanced, and safe. It’s particularly helpful for calming anxiety, reducing overwhelm, and reconnecting with the present moment.

Gua Sha

A traditional tool-based technique that gently scrapes the skin to release tension, improve lymphatic flow, and promote circulation. Commonly used in facials to lift, brighten, and detox the skin.

Intraoral Massage

Performed with gloved hands inside the mouth to release deep tension in the jaw, cheeks, and around the lips. Great for TMJ issues, teeth grinding, facial tension, and post-dental recovery.

Lifting

Massage movements aimed at firming and toning skin and muscles, often used in pro-ageing treatments. Helps promote circulation, stimulate collagen, and give the face or body a more youthful appearance.

Lymphatic Drainage

A gentle, rhythmic massage that stimulates the lymph system to eliminate toxins and reduce fluid retention. Ideal for post-surgery care, boosting immunity, and reducing puffiness or swelling.

Mobilisation

Mobilisation techniques gently move joints and soft tissues to restore natural movement and reduce stiffness. Ideal for improving mobility, easing discomfort, and enhancing posture and function.

Myofascial Release

This slow, sustained pressure targets fascia — connective tissue surrounding muscles — to reduce restrictions and chronic tension. It’s highly effective for long-term pain relief and restoring movement patterns.

Rocking & Pulsing

These rhythmic, gentle movements calm the nervous system, release tension, and promote deep relaxation. It’s excellent for grounding the body and resetting physical and emotional stress.

Sculpting

Aesthetic-focused massage that contours facial or body tissues, improving tone, reducing puffiness, and enhancing definition. Often used in facial massages for a naturally lifted look.

Stretching

Incorporated into massage, stretching helps improve flexibility, release muscle tension, and increase range of motion. It’s especially beneficial for tight or stiff areas, aiding in injury prevention and enhanced body alignment.

Swedish Massage

A gentle, flowing massage that relaxes the body, improves circulation, and boosts overall well-being. Perfect for stress relief, relaxation, and promoting healthy sleep.

Trigger Point Therapy

Focused pressure is applied to tight, painful “knots” or trigger points to release tension and refer pain away from the site. Beneficial for headaches, chronic pain, and muscular imbalances.
